EnConvert — Claude Code MCP server: web reading and file conversion
Adds 24 tools to your agent: scored page reads, live web search, structured extraction and file conversion.
claude mcp add mcp -- npx -y @enconvert/mcpWhat EnConvert does
EnConvert runs as an MCP server and registers 24 tools. Web work goes through perceive_url and its relatives: a page comes back as markdown, HTML, screenshots, PDF and links, alongside a render_quality score from 0.0 to 1.0 with named deductions such as anti_bot_challenge, http_error or login_wall. Below 0.40 the agent should surface the score and deductions rather than the markdown. A content-free block arrives as HTTP 200 with is_blocked: true and is not billed.
Six tools handle files: convert_document, convert_image, compress_image, convert_anything_to_markdown, convert_anything_to_pdf and get_job_status. compress_image keeps the input format and tries lossless first; when target_size_kb cannot be reached it returns the smallest file it managed, so read file_size on the result. Animated APNG and WebP are rejected.
The V2 web tools need a private API key and a plan that includes them. Seven prompts encode multi-step workflows — site_to_rag_corpus, monitor_page and others — and appear as /mcp__enconvert__<name>. Resources like enconvert://formats cost no render quota.
What it helps with
- read a page and see at once that a bot check blocked it
- turn a PDF or office file into clean markdown for RAG
- shrink an image to a target size in KB
- enumerate a site's URLs without rendering anything
- track page changes and get a digest
Example prompts for the agent
- Read this page with
perceive_urland show me therender_qualitydeductions - Build a RAG corpus from the docs site with
site_to_rag_corpus - Compress

Questions about EnConvert
How do I install EnConvert in Claude Code?
Run claude mcp add enconvert -- npx -y @enconvert/mcp. The server then shows up in your agent's MCP server list.
What does EnConvert do?
It reads web pages and converts files on the agent's request. Every web read carries a render_quality score with named deductions, so a block or an empty SPA is not mistaken for content.
What do the V2 web tools require?
A private API key and a plan that grants them. File conversion works independently of both.
