Ecommerce Data API — Claude Code MCP server: how to install and use
Connects AI assistants to Amazon market signals, keyword metrics, and competitor metrics. Useful for researching product niches and tracking demand.
claude mcp add --transport http ecommerce-data-api https://ecommercedataapi.com/mcpWhat Ecommerce Data API does
This server gives coding agents direct access to Amazon marketplace analytics without a merchant account. It pulls sales estimates, search volumes, review breakdowns, and trademark records across international Amazon sites. Because the sales figures come from predictive models based on public ranking metrics, they suit competitive research rather than exact financial accounting.
Instead of loading dozens of tools into context at once, the server uses dedicated discovery tools. The agent runs ecommerce_api_search to find the needed endpoint, inspects the schema through ecommerce_api_describe, and sends the request using ecommerce_api_call. Note that document OCR uploading stays restricted to regular REST endpoints and cannot run over this interface.
Authentication runs via browser sign-in over HTTP, keeping private tokens out of local config files. Headless systems can pass a bearer token in the authorization header instead. Balance verification happens inside the chat using the ecommerce_account tool.
What it helps with
- estimate product sales volume from an ASIN
- find high-traffic search terms for listing optimization
- identify competitor products in a target Amazon category
- verify trademark registrations before launching a brand
Example prompts for the agent
- Find the top keywords and search volume for wireless keyboards on Amazon
- Estimate monthly sales and revenue for this product ASIN
- Check my remaining account credits using
ecommerce_account
