EasyBits — Claude Code MCP server: what it does, install
EasyBits gives an agent Linux microVMs, web access, file tools, SQL databases, and app hosting through one MCP server.
claude mcp add --transport http easybits https://www.easybits.cloud/api/mcpWhat EasyBits does
EasyBits exposes persistent Linux sandboxes built on Firecracker. An agent can use root access, internet connectivity, state retention, and a public URL, then call tools for web search, page reading, data extraction, files, SQL databases, documents, video, and hosting.
Claude Code can connect over HTTP or start the package through stdio with npx -y @easybits.cloud/mcp. You need an EasyBits account and an API key created in the Developer Dashboard. For the local process, pass that key through EASYBITS_API_KEY.
The project also offers a REST API v2 and the typed @easybits.cloud/sdk package. Its service includes file uploads and transformations, webhooks with HMAC signatures, and scoped API keys. The local MCP process cannot access the service without EASYBITS_API_KEY.
What it helps with
- provision isolated Linux microVMs for an agent
- search and extract information from web pages
- upload and transform project files
- deploy static sites behind a public URL
Example prompts for the agent
- Connect EasyBits and create an isolated Linux microVM for this task.
- Use EasyBits to search the web and return the relevant extracted information.
- Upload this file with EasyBits, transform it, and deploy the result at a public URL.
