DAQiFi — Claude Code MCP server: what it does, how to install
This MCP server links AI agents directly to DAQiFi Nyquist hardware. It lets you monitor sensor streams and configure outputs using plain conversation.
Open on GitHubWhat DAQiFi does
The server exposes DAQiFi Nyquist 1 and Nyquist 3 hardware to MCP-compatible assistants. The model discovers boards over WiFi or USB, configures individual analog channels, and sets streaming frequencies without desktop software.
Under the hood, it relies on the cross-platform .NET runtime. Agents can toggle digital I/O pins, set PWM duty cycles, trigger analog outputs, and capture session telemetry to an SD card. Logged data transfers back as CSV files inside the chat interface.
Physical Nyquist hardware is mandatory. WiFi retrieval for SD card files requires firmware 3.7.0 or higher. Starting SD card logging is restricted to USB or serial connections.
What it helps with
- Detect DAQiFi Nyquist hardware connected via WiFi or USB
- Stream decoded analog sensor readings at custom sample rates
- Drive digital I/O pins and configure PWM duty cycles
- Retrieve logged telemetry files from the SD card as CSV
Example prompts for the agent
- Scan the local network for DAQiFi devices and display open channels
- Enable analog channel 0 at 100 Hz and stream live readings
- Set the PWM duty cycle on pin 2 and log samples to the SD card

Questions about DAQiFi
How do I install DAQiFi for Claude Code?
Build the MCP server from src/Daqifi.Mcp in the daqifi/daqifi-core repository using .NET. Once built, add the binary entry point to your MCP client configuration file.
What does the DAQiFi MCP server do?
It translates conversational requests into hardware commands for Nyquist data acquisition devices. You can read analog inputs, manage outputs, and pull logged test data directly from the AI chat.
What are the network limitations for SD card operations?
Downloading SD files over WiFi requires firmware 3.7.0 or higher. Starting SD card data logging only works over a physical USB or serial connection.
