Claude Code Bridge — Claude Code MCP server: features and setup
Passes messages between coding-agent sessions through named channels and keeps their history in SQLite. Use it to share work across machines.
claude mcp add --env CLAUDE_BRIDGE_DB=<CLAUDE_BRIDGE_DB> --env CLAUDE_BRIDGE_AUTH_TOKEN=<CLAUDE_BRIDGE_AUTH_TOKEN> --transport stdio claude-bridge -- uvx claude-code-bridgeWhat Claude Bridge does
Claude Bridge connects coding-agent sessions through named channels. Its MCP tools send messages, read them in pages, and wait for new ones; SQLite keeps the channel history available after a client restarts. The server also offers a JSON API, a browser dashboard, and a terminal UI.
This is a transport, not an orchestrator: receiving a message does not authorize an agent to act on it. Local HTTP mode listens on 127.0.0.1:8765, while --stdio opens no network listener. To connect from another machine, configure a trusted host and an authorization token. Both checks matter for network access.
What it helps with
- send a task to an agent on another machine
- read results from a shared channel
- recover channel history after a client restart
- retry a message without duplicating its send
Example prompts for the agent
- Send the other machine's agent a request to inspect this module with
bridge_send. - Read new messages from the build channel using
bridge_receive. - Wait for a reply in the review channel with
bridge_wait.
How to install Claude Bridge
Platform CLI
claude mcp add --env CLAUDE_BRIDGE_DB=<CLAUDE_BRIDGE_DB> --env CLAUDE_BRIDGE_AUTH_TOKEN=<CLAUDE_BRIDGE_AUTH_TOKEN> --transport stdio claude-bridge -- uvx claude-code-bridgeReplace <…> with your own values. uvx runs the command named after the package; if the README names another one, use uvx --from claude-code-bridge <command>
Platform CLI

Questions about Claude Bridge
How do I install Claude Bridge in Claude Code?
Run claude mcp add claude-code-bridge -e CLAUDE_BRIDGE_AUTH_TOKEN=<CLAUDE_BRIDGE_AUTH_TOKEN> -- uvx claude-code-bridge. The installation instructions also provide a separate command that sets the database path.
What does Claude Bridge do?
It passes messages between agent sessions through named channels and stores their history in SQLite. Clients can use MCP, while the server also exposes a JSON API, dashboard, and terminal UI.
What is required for a connection from another machine?
Configure a trusted host and an authorization token for protected endpoints. The network mode requires both settings.
