CCRider — Claude Code MCP server for session search
CCRider indexes coding-agent sessions and lets an MCP client search their history. Use it to retrieve an earlier discussion or bring past context into a new task.
Open on GitHubWhat CCRider does
CCRider collects sessions from Claude Code, Codex CLI, GitHub Copilot CLI, OpenCode, Pi, Antigravity, and Amp in a local SQLite database. Search message text and narrow results by project, date, or provider. A terminal interface lets you browse sessions; the built-in MCP server lets an agent query that history.
Run ccrider sync to import new sessions, then configure an MCP client to launch ccrider serve-mcp. For Claude Code, the user-level command is claude mcp add --scope user ccrider $(which ccrider) serve-mcp. Amp imports need extra setup: enable amp_enabled = true in ~/.config/ccrider/config.toml and install and authenticate the amp CLI. Amp data is cloud-backed, and MCP searches the local copy created during an earlier sync.
What it helps with
- Search old conversations by message content
- Narrow session history to a project or date
- Give an agent context from an earlier session
- Browse recent sessions by provider
- Resume a session from the terminal interface
Example prompts for the agent
- Find earlier sessions where I investigated an authentication error.
- Show recent sessions for the billing project.
- Search my Codex history for a database migration discussion.

Questions about CCRider
How do I install CCRider for Claude Code?
Install it with Homebrew using brew install neilberkman/tap/ccrider. Then add the user-level MCP server with claude mcp add --scope user ccrider $(which ccrider) serve-mcp.
What does CCRider do?
It gathers coding-agent session history in a local database and makes it searchable from the terminal or through an MCP server.
What setup does CCRider need to import Amp sessions?
Set amp_enabled = true in ~/.config/ccrider/config.toml, then install and authenticate the amp CLI. MCP searches the Amp data saved by a previous sync.
