What Canopy API does

Canopy API connects Claude Code and other supported clients to Amazon through MCP. Agents can search for products, compare prices and seller offers, inspect reviews, and retrieve product details by ASIN. Its tools are read-only.

The server uses Streamable HTTP. Connect to the hosted endpoint or run the project yourself; self-hosting requires a Canopy API key. Authentication supports OAuth 2.1 or an API key sent in a request header. Every request needs credentials, so the server returns HTTP 401 when they are missing or invalid.

What it helps with

  • search Amazon for products by query
  • compare prices and seller offers
  • retrieve product reviews and ratings
  • look up product details by ASIN

Example prompts for the agent

  • Find Amazon products matching “wireless keyboard” and compare their prices.
  • Show reviews and ratings for the product with ASIN B0XXXXXXXX.
  • Check seller offers and stock estimates for this Amazon product.
