APIVerve — MCP server for Claude Code: 387+ APIs in one connection
A remote MCP server that hands your agent weather, geocoding, email validation, currency conversion and hundreds of other APIVerve APIs.
claude mcp add --transport http mcp-server https://api.apiverve.com/v1/mcpWhat APIVerve does
Nothing runs on your machine. The server is hosted, and the client just points at https://api.apiverve.com/v1/mcp. Every APIVerve function shows up as its own MCP tool with a name, a description and a JSON schema for its inputs. The agent picks the right one when a question about weather, address checks or unit conversion comes up.
Sign-in uses OAuth 2.0 with PKCE. On the first call the server asks for authorization and your client guides you through the login; no key lands on disk, and you can revoke access from your dashboard. For CI and headless setups without a browser, pass an x-api-key header instead. One catch: Custom Connectors in Claude Desktop cannot send their own headers, so OAuth is the only route there. Keys come from the APIVerve dashboard, and the free tier needs no card.
Pricing is token-based. Simple calls start at 1 credit each, heavier APIs cost more. Transport is Streamable HTTP, protocol MCP 2025-06-18 with fallback to 2025-03-26 and 2024-11-05. Packages exist for npm and PyPI, and Python clients can connect through streamablehttp_client.
What it helps with
- check the weather and air quality for a city
- validate an email or phone number before sending
- convert an amount between currencies
- resolve a timezone and coordinates from an IP
- test domain availability and SSL certificate expiry
Example prompts for the agent
- What's the weather in San Francisco right now?
- Validate this email: [email protected]
- Convert 100 USD to EUR

Questions about APIVerve
How do I install APIVerve in Claude Code?
Run claude mcp add --transport http apiverve https://api.apiverve.com/v1/mcp. Sign-in then happens over OAuth on first use.
What does APIVerve do?
It exposes APIVerve's APIs to your agent over MCP: weather, geocoding, validation, conversion, news and random data generators. Each one is called as a separate tool.
Do I need an API key?
Not by default — OAuth is enough. A key is for CI and headless environments where no browser can open; send it in the x-api-key header.
