MadTaco — Claude Code MCP server: checks and setup
MadTaco lets an agent query an API for tax ID, company, sanctions, and domain checks. Paid checks need a funded account.
claude mcp add --env MADTACO_API_BASE=<MADTACO_API_BASE> --env MADTACO_API_KEY=<MADTACO_API_KEY> --transport stdio madtaco -- npx -y @madtaco/mcpWhat MadTaco does
This stdio MCP server sends requests to the public MadTaco API. Its 13 tools cover tax IDs, IBANs, email and phone checks, instrument lookups, company verification, domain inspection, and sanctions screening. Agents can also create accounts and read usage data.
Some checks work without an API key. Authenticated and paid tools need MADTACO_API_KEY; paid screening and full email or phone checks also require a funded tier 2 account. Failed checks are not charged. Anonymous access is limited to 50 requests per day per IP.
Claude Code runs the server with npx over stdio, while the server calls MadTaco’s HTTP API. A funded account is required for paid checks, so those tools cannot complete their work on an unfunded account.
What it helps with
- validate a tax ID or IBAN
- screen a company against the API
- inspect a domain
- check a name against sanctions lists
- review account credit usage
Example prompts for the agent
- Check whether this IBAN is valid.
- Screen this company using its registration details.
- Inspect this domain and return the screening result.
