atimelogger-mcp — Claude Code MCP server: time tracking
Connects ATimeLogger to an AI assistant for timers, past entries, activity notes, and time reports. Useful when time tracking should happen through chat.
claude mcp add --env ATL_TOKEN=<ATL_TOKEN> --env ATL_BASE_URL=<ATL_BASE_URL> --transport stdio atimelogger-mcp -- npx -y atimelogger-mcpWhat atimelogger-mcp does
atimelogger-mcp exposes ATimeLogger’s REST API through MCP. An assistant can start, stop, pause, and resume activities, record completed intervals, edit tags or comments, inspect the active timer, and query history. Reports aggregate time by activity type and period.
Activity names are matched against the account’s type list, so a shortened name can still target the right type when it is unambiguous. Results include readable durations and use the ATimeLogger timezone unless another timezone is supplied. The app_help tool lets the assistant consult the app’s documentation.
Node 20+ and an ATimeLogger Personal Access Token are required. Put the token in ATL_TOKEN; it is displayed only once when generated, so save it immediately.
What it helps with
- start a timer for an activity
- record a missed interval from earlier
- break down tracked time by period
- inspect a day from the activity history
- update an entry’s tags or comment
Example prompts for the agent
- Start tracking the “Work” activity and show the current status.
- Log yesterday’s reading session from 9:00 to 11:00.
- Compare sleep time for this month with last month.
