akf — Claude Code MCP server: what it does, how to install
An MCP server with 10 AKF tools: the agent checks whether a file is safe to build on, then stamps what it verified.
claude mcp add akf -- uvx mcp-server-akfWhat akf does
Ten tools for the Agent Knowledge Format come in over MCP. check_file answers in one line whether a file is OK, LOW, STALE or UNSTAMPED, so an agent can decide to rely on it instead of re-reading the whole thing. stamp_file attaches the trust metadata across 20+ formats, and extract_file with embed_file move that metadata in and out of DOCX, PDF, HTML and images.
The economics are the pitch. A stamp costs roughly 15 tokens, re-verifying the same file costs 15,000. Whoever did the work records it, the next agent reads the state. audit_file checks a file against EU AI Act, SOX, HIPAA, GDPR, NIST or ISO 42001, while detect_threats runs 10 checks built around agent behaviour.
Requirements are Python 3.10 or newer plus akf 1.0.0 and mcp 1.0.0. On an older interpreter it won't start at all, so an outdated project fails at launch. Install with pip install mcp-server-akf, or register it for Claude Code with claude mcp add akf -- uvx mcp-server-akf. File state rides in _meta under dev.akf/trust on mcp 2.x, and a client that has never heard of the key drops it.
What it helps with
- decide whether a file is safe to build on without opening it
- stamp a reviewed
report.docxwith trust metadata - pull AKF metadata out of a PDF or a screenshot
- run a compliance pass against GDPR and HIPAA
- catch threats written for AI agents
Example prompts for the agent
- Run
check_fileonsrc/api.pyand tell me if it's safe to build on. - Stamp
report.docxwith AKF metadata, confidence 0.9, evidence: quarterly review done. - Audit
contract.pdfagainst GDPR withaudit_fileand show me the report.
