myc — Claude Code MCP server: task queue and memory
A local MCP server that gives a coding agent a task queue and a log of decisions. Everything sits in SQLite; the server makes no calls out.
claude mcp add myc -- npx -y @aistastudio/mycWhat myc does
Agents forget, and myc keeps the two things they drop first: the task queue and the record of facts and decisions behind the code. Work survives a killed process, decisions survive compaction, and plain git carries both to another machine. Storage is one local SQLite file. Nothing goes over the wire unless you ask with myc models fetch or myc code fetch.
A short set of commands covers the loop. myc ready --claim takes the next task and myc close finishes it. myc remember files a fact, myc recall searches what was filed, myc prime hands over a context packet at session start, myc code index maps symbols and call sites. Search stays keyword-only until the embedding model is pulled with myc models fetch (129 MB), and every answer says so.
Check the SQLite library first. Below 3.50.4 every command refuses to run, myc init included, and prints precond.sqlite_unsupported. Between 3.50.4 and 3.51.2 the server starts but warns WARN degraded.sqlite_old; that band was never proven safe for the queue. myc doctor names the library in use and where it came from. On Windows the prebuilt binary is still experimental, and WSL is the route that gets full support.
What it helps with
- take the next task without losing it on a restart
- write down why one approach won over another
- reload project context at the start of a session
- search symbols and call sites in a local code index
- find out which SQLite build the server loaded
Example prompts for the agent
- Take the next task from the queue:
myc ready --claim. - Record why we went with this approach, use
myc remember. - Search what we decided about retries with
myc recall.

Questions about myc
How do I install myc in Claude Code?
Run claude mcp add myc -- npx -y @aistastudio/myc. Then call myc init inside the project so .myc/ and the database with its migrations appear.
What does myc do?
It keeps a task queue, a log of facts and decisions, search over that log, and a code index. The data lives in a local SQLite file on your machine.
Which SQLite version does myc need?
3.50.4 or newer. Anything older stops even myc init with precond.sqlite_unsupported, and myc doctor reports which library got loaded and where it came from.
