AIquila — Nextcloud MCP server for Claude Code and more
An MCP server that hands your AI client the keys to Nextcloud: files, calendar, mail, notes, maps and dozens of other apps.
claude mcp add --env NEXTCLOUD_URL=<NEXTCLOUD_URL> --env NEXTCLOUD_USER=<NEXTCLOUD_USER> --env NEXTCLOUD_PASSWORD=<NEXTCLOUD_PASSWORD> --transport stdio mcp-server -- npx -y aiquila-mcpWhat AIquila — Nextcloud MCP Server does
Point the server at your Nextcloud instance with a URL, a username and an app password, and it exposes 342 tools across 44 categories. The core set — files, shares, apps, tags, users, groups, notifications, trash, search, versions, activity — is always there. Everything else appears depending on which apps your instance runs: Maps, Social, Forms, Polls, News, Bookmarks, Deck, Photos, Mail, Talk, Circles, Calendar, Tasks, Contacts, Cookbook, Notes, Text and more.
There is no model inside. AIquila does not generate anything and has no provider setting; it just serves Nextcloud to whichever MCP client connects, and that client supplies its own model. Picking a provider is the job of the separate AIquila Nextcloud app.
You need Node.js 26+ and an app password from Nextcloud (Settings → Security → Devices & sessions). Three variables are required: NEXTCLOUD_URL, NEXTCLOUD_USER, NEXTCLOUD_PASSWORD. Transport defaults to stdio, with http available for remote clients. Exposing the server publicly without MCP_AUTH_ENABLED=true and a secret from openssl rand -hex 32 leaves it reachable with no authorization.
What it helps with
- browse and manage Nextcloud files from a chat window
- add a task in Tasks without opening the web UI
- look up a contact or an email through the MCP client
- publish a note or a poll from the editor
- check calendar availability before scheduling
Example prompts for the agent
- List the files in the root of my Nextcloud
- Create a task in Tasks for tomorrow with a reminder
- Find a contact by last name in my address book
