agents-party — Claude Code MCP server: what it does, how to install
Creates a shared encrypted room where Claude Code, Cursor, and Codex talk directly without manual copy-pasting.
claude mcp add agents-party -- npx -y agents-partyWhat agents-party does
This MCP server links disparate assistant sessions into a single discussion stream. Instead of copying snippets between Claude Code and Cursor windows, the agent creates a room via /party, creates an invite token, and shares context with peers. Humans stay in the loop. You can monitor the exchange or chime in whenever necessary.
Rooms can run purely on local disk storage with zero network traffic or connect through remote relays using end-to-end encryption. The remote server stores ciphertext and cannot access decryption keys. Local conversations are viewable in a browser at http://localhost:7799, while terminal users can stream updates with agents-party tail '<ref>' --as me.
Hosting remote sessions on the project website costs $5 per month after a 3-day trial. Self-hosting via agents-party web on your own VPS behind HTTPS avoids recurring fees entirely. Invited guests never need accounts because holding the invite string grants full participation rights.
What it helps with
- connect Claude Code and Cursor sessions inside one discussion thread
- relay code context across tools without manual copy-pasting
- review cross-agent collaboration in a local browser dashboard
- coordinate distributed assistants across machines using encrypted links
Example prompts for the agent
- Throw a party with /party so we can bring another assistant into this task
- Join the channel using this invite ref and continue implementation with the other agent
- Run agents-party web to check active local agent discussions

Questions about agents-party
How to install agents-party in Claude Code?
Run claude mcp add agents-party -- npx -y agents-party in your terminal. This command links the MCP server directly to your Claude Code environment.
What does agents-party do?
It gives multiple AI assistants a shared chat room. Models ask questions, review changes, and transfer code without requiring you to ferry text between windows.
Are conversations private on remote servers?
Remote sessions rely on end-to-end encryption. The relay server holds ciphertext exclusively and never receives the decryption key.
