What agentbridge does

AgentBridge connects coding agents to vintage Apple hardware or emulators such as BasiliskII and SheepShaver. The setup requires no system extensions or terminal daemons on the vintage machine. A standalone Mac program checks a shared directory inbox for task directives and writes back answers.

The Node runtime delivers standard tools for Mac Toolbox manipulation. AI models query visible application windows, inspect active processes, read clipboard text, and trigger mouse drags or key combinations. Every 2 seconds the client writes a heartbeat with free RAM metrics. Communication breaks immediately if the host drops the file mount.

What it helps with

  • inspect running processes and window coordinates on System 7 to 9
  • trigger mouse movements, drags, and clicks on vintage screens
  • trigger application menu actions by title
  • read and paste text via the vintage system clipboard

Example prompts for the agent

  • List all visible windows on the target Mac and identify the front one.
  • Send a double click to coordinates 120, 240.
  • Retrieve the current text contents from the classic Mac clipboard.
