What agent-never-give-up does

The server offers scenarios for common agent stalls: repeated failed fixes, tangled reasoning, losing sight of the original goal, or letting a task grow beyond its scope. Each protocol helps the agent restate the goal, review what has failed, and choose a different approach.

Core scenarios are available as direct MCP tools. Extended ones are found with list_scenarios, then retrieved with get_prompt. Both static and sampling modes are supported. Extended scenarios take an extra discovery step; core tools can be called directly.

In Claude Code, add the server with claude mcp add and run it through npx. Listed platforms also include Codex, Cursor, GitHub Copilot, Windsurf (Devin Desktop), Cline, Zed, and Gemini CLI.

What it helps with

  • break out of circular reasoning
  • review repeated failed bug fixes
  • clarify missing requirements
  • recover the original task goal
  • spot changes that exceed the task scope

Example prompts for the agent

  • My reasoning keeps going in circles. Help me find a different approach.
  • Several attempts to fix this bug have failed. Review them and suggest a new strategy.
  • Check whether these changes still match the original task scope.
