Flutter CEO Peter Jackson will step down on 30 September. Dan Taylor, head of the company's international division, will replace him. Flutter disclosed the change in its second-quarter report.
Jackson led the group for nine years, starting in January 2018. Under his tenure Flutter grew from British operator Paddy Power Betfair into the largest global gaming group. He oversaw the FanDuel acquisition in May 2018 and the £10 billion purchase of Stars Group in October 2019, established the company in the US market and entered Brazil.
But the quarterly numbers are weak. FanDuel revenue fell 6%, the US EBITDA forecast was cut by $210 million. Flutter shares have lost 54% since the start of the year, trading at $98.50 in pre-market on Wednesday. Analysts warn that after delisting from the London exchange, the operator is too dependent on the US market, where competition has intensified and betting growth has slowed.
Taylor joined Paddy Power Betfair in 2015, ran UK & Ireland, then led Sky Bet integration after the Stars Group deal. Since November 2024 he has controlled five regions of the international business, including the UK, Europe, Asia and Brazil. His appointment may signal a shift toward more balanced geography: first-quarter international revenue rose 27%, driven by Snai in Italy and Betnacional in Brazil. Jackson will stay through the end of the third quarter to complete the transition before the NFL season begins.
