What vendor-review does

This skill structures the review of new proposals and existing contracts. It takes vendor details, pricing tables, or contract terms, then generates an evaluation covering financial exposure and operational risk. The cost breakdown looks past initial subscription rates to model implementation and eventual contract termination costs.

When deciding between competing products, it builds a side-by-side comparison matrix covering pricing and service level agreements. If procurement tools or knowledge base connectors are active in your environment, the skill checks internal spend history and approval thresholds automatically.

Accuracy depends heavily on what you upload: without real proposals or numbers, the agent provides only an empty evaluation template.

What it helps with

  • calculate total cost of ownership including implementation and exit fees
  • compare two vendor proposals side-by-side on pricing and SLAs
  • audit security, compliance, and lock-in risks before contract sign-off
  • generate negotiation points and counter-offers for procurement renewals

Example prompts for the agent

  • /vendor-review Snowflake
  • /vendor-review Compare Vendor A vs Vendor B based on uploaded proposals
  • /vendor-review Review contract renewal with our current spend data

## What I Need From You

- **Vendor name**: Who are you evaluating?
- **Context**: New vendor evaluation, renewal decision, or comparison?
- **Details**: Contract terms, pricing, proposal document, or current performance data

## If Connectors Available

If **~~knowledge base** is connected:
- Search for existing vendor evaluations, contracts, and performance reviews
- Pull procurement policies and approval thresholds

If **~~procurement** is connected:
- Pull current contract terms, spend history, and renewal dates
- Compare pricing against existing vendor agreements

## Tips

1. **Upload the proposal** — I can extract pricing, terms, and SLAs from vendor documents.
2. **Compare vendors** — "Compare Vendor A vs Vendor B" gets you a side-by-side analysis.
3. **Include current spend** — For renewals, knowing what you pay now helps evaluate price changes.
