recipe-find-free-time — Claude skill: find a meeting slot
This skill checks Google Calendar free/busy status for several people and creates the meeting in the slot that works for everyone.
npx skills add googleworkspace/cli --skill recipe-find-free-time -a claude-codeWhat recipe-find-free-time does
The skill runs in three steps: query free/busy with gws calendar freebusy query, look at the output for overlapping windows, then insert the event with gws calendar +insert. You pass the time range and the list of attendee addresses as JSON.
It sits on top of the gws CLI and needs the gws-calendar skill loaded first. Skip either one and the recipe stops. Licensed Apache-2.0, version 0.22.5.
Worth installing if you schedule meetings through Google Calendar and want the agent to do the back-and-forth. If your calendar lives somewhere else, or you book a meeting once a month by hand, this adds a layer you won't use.
What it helps with
- find overlapping free slots for several attendees
- check who is busy inside a given time range
- create the event in the slot you picked
- settle a meeting time without a chat thread
Example prompts for the agent
- find free time for [email protected] and [email protected] on March 18
- check both calendars from 08:00 to 18:00 and suggest a slot
- create a Meeting event at 14:00–14:30 with those attendees
