plan-my-day — Claude Code skill: hour-by-hour daily plan
Turns your priorities and energy patterns into an hour-by-hour schedule for the day. Useful when the morning disappears into triage instead of work.
npx skills add BrianRWagner/ai-marketing-claude-code-skills --skill plan-my-day -a claude-codeWhat plan-my-day does
The skill runs in three modes: quick returns three priorities with rough blocks, standard produces the full hour-by-hour plan, and deep adds an energy analysis plus suggestions for the week. standard is the default.
Scheduling follows a fixed set of rules. Deep work lands in the morning peak, tasks run in 90-minute stretches with breaks between them, and high-stakes decisions get placed before 15:00. Fixed meetings go in first, buffers sit between major blocks, and email or chat is pushed into the low-energy hours. Only part of the day gets booked, so the plan has room to slip.
You can override the energy windows with flags: /plan-my-day --peak 9-11,14-16 --recovery 13-14. Skip that and the skill falls back to the generic intervals from its description, which may not match your actual rhythm — expect to rearrange the blocks by hand.
What it helps with
- lay out the day hour by hour around meetings and deadlines
- pick the three priorities that actually matter today
- move demanding work into the morning peak
- leave buffers between blocks instead of overbooking
- plan the whole week, not just today
Example prompts for the agent
- Plan my day using the
standardmode - Build today's plan with
--peak 9-11,14-16 --recovery 13-14 - Run
deepmode and suggest a structure for my week
