social-card-gen — Claude Code skill: posts for Twitter/X, LinkedIn
Turns one source message into three platform-ready posts for Twitter/X, LinkedIn and Reddit. Handy when the same idea has to go out on several channels.

Give the skill a source message and it writes a separate version for each platform. It opens with four intake questions: the core idea, the tone you want, who should read it, and what you want people to do. Skip them and the copy comes out flat everywhere.
Two paths exist. With Node.js you run generate.js and pass input as --text, a file with --file, or a link with --url, sending output to stdout or a folder. Without Node.js the skill writes by hand using built-in rules: 280 characters for a single tweet, the two lines before “See more” on LinkedIn, no hashtags on Reddit. Three modes are available — quick for one platform, standard for all three, deep for variants plus A/B testing guidance.
Once the drafts are done, a self-review table checks the hook, the call to action and whether the tone fits the platform. The weakest variant gets named and explained. Guardrails block the obvious mistakes: identical copy pasted everywhere, and Reddit posts that open with self-promotion. If generate.js is missing, the manual path still produces the same result — automation is optional here.
What it helps with
- split one announcement across three networks without copy-paste
- fit an idea into 280 characters for Twitter/X
- write a first line for LinkedIn that survives the “See more” cut
- draft a Reddit post that does not read like an ad
- catch a weak hook or a missing call to action before posting
Example prompts for the agent
- Write Twitter, LinkedIn and Reddit posts from this: we cut onboarding time by 35% with a checklist
- Generate a LinkedIn-only version, conversational tone, audience is startup founders
- Give me three variants per platform and tell me what to A/B test
