What nft-standards does

The examples show Solidity contracts for minting and burning tokens, supply limits, and authorization checks. The skill also covers IPFS and on-chain metadata, soulbound tokens, dynamic NFTs, and EIP-2981 royalties.

The contract examples use OpenZeppelin and Solidity ^0.8.0; the metadata section shows JSON with an image and attributes. Install it with npx skills for Claude Code, Codex, or Cursor. Choose this skill when you are implementing NFT contracts or marketplace features; skip it for work outside NFT systems.

What it helps with

  • build an ERC-721 collection contract
  • mint ERC-1155 batches with per-token supply caps
  • shape NFT metadata for IPFS or on-chain storage
  • add royalty calculations with EIP-2981
  • check burn authorization and token supply logic

Example prompts for the agent

  • Create an ERC-721 contract with a supply cap and a mint price.
  • Add ERC-1155 batch minting with a separate supply limit for each ID.
  • Show how to store NFT traits on-chain and return them from tokenURI.

How to install nft-standards

1Plugin marketplace

/plugin marketplace add wshobson/agents
/plugin install blockchain-web3@claude-code-workflows

This installs the whole blockchain-web3 plugin with all its skills

2Skills CLI (Vercel)

npx skills add wshobson/agents --skill nft-standards -a claude-code

3Manually: put the files in place

# NFT Standards

Master ERC-721 and ERC-1155 NFT standards, metadata best practices, and advanced NFT features.

## When to Use This Skill

- Creating NFT collections (art, gaming, collectibles)
- Implementing marketplace functionality
- Building on-chain or off-chain metadata
- Creating soulbound tokens (non-transferable)
- Implementing royalties and revenue sharing
- Developing dynamic/evolving NFTs

## Metadata Standards

### Off-Chain Metadata (IPFS)

```json
  "name": "NFT #1",
  "description": "Description of the NFT",
  "image": "ipfs://QmImageHash",
  "attributes": [
    {
      "trait_type": "Background",
      "value": "Blue"
    },
    {
      "trait_type": "Rarity",
      "value": "Legendary"
    },
    {
      "value": 95,
      "display_type": "number",
      "max_value": 100
    }
  ]
}
```

### On-Chain Metadata

```solidity
contract OnChainNFT is ERC721 {
    struct Traits {
        uint8 background;
        uint8 body;
        uint8 head;
        uint8 rarity;
    }
            )
    function generateSVG(Traits memory traits) internal pure returns (string memory) {
        // Generate SVG based on traits
## Royalties (EIP-2981)
```solidity
import "@openzeppelin/contracts/interfaces/IERC2981.sol";

contract NFTWithRoyalties is ERC721, IERC2981 {

        returns (address receiver, uint256 royaltyAmount)

    function setRoyalty(address recipient, uint96 fee) external onlyOwner {

        royaltyRecipient = recipient;

    }

    function supportsInterface(bytes4 interfaceId)
        public
        view

        returns (bool)
    {
        return interfaceId == type(IERC2981).interfaceId ||
