What landing-page-review does

The skill loads a URL and breaks the page into pieces: headline and subheadline, button copy and placement, how clear the offer is, what sits above the fold, how sections are ordered. Each element gets a 1-10 score — headline clarity, how specific the value proposition is, CTA strength, social proof, urgency. Trust signals are checked separately: customer logos, testimonials, security badges, published pricing, contact details, links to policy and terms.

When a form is present, the skill counts its fields, reads the labels and the submit button text, and looks for a privacy note nearby. For mobile it can only read the viewport meta tag and inline CSS. Tap target sizes and the position of the CTA on the first screen need a rendered page, so run the URL through PageSpeed Insights or open it in device mode at 375px wide. Load speed the skill measures itself with curl: time to first byte, HTML size, and a rough total across referenced assets. A TTFB above 1 s or roughly 3 MB of weight costs points.

With Cogny MCP connected, heuristics get backed by numbers: conversion by device and source from GA4 or Plausible, friction points from Microsoft Clarity, past A/B tests from GrowthBook. Every one of those tools is read-only. Without a connection the skill still produces a heuristic score and names what each source would add. Clarity allows 10 requests per day, so get_api_quota runs first.

What it helps with

  • find out why visitors leave a landing page without signing up
  • judge the headline and offer before spending on ads
  • cut the number of fields in a signup form
  • compare your page against competitor landing pages
  • check whether a variant you want to ship already lost a test

Example prompts for the agent

  • Review example.com/pricing for conversion and give me a list of fixes
  • Check the headline and the CTA above the fold on this page
  • Compare our landing page with two competitors and show where we fall behind

How do I install landing-page-review in Claude Code?

Run npx skills add cognyai/claude-code-marketing-skills --skill landing-page-review -a claude-code. The skill file lands at ~/.claude/skills/landing-page-review/SKILL.md.

What does landing-page-review do?

It fetches a page and scores it for conversion: messaging, trust, form friction, mobile, load speed. You get section scores plus concrete changes to make.

Do I need analytics accounts for it to work?

No, the review runs on the public page with no accounts. Connecting Cogny MCP adds measured data: conversion rates from GA4 or Plausible, behavior from Clarity, results of earlier experiments from GrowthBook.
