google-ads-monitor — Claude Code skill: weekly ad account check
Runs a weekly pass over your ad accounts and shows what moved: spend, conversions, CPA and ROAS against the previous week.
npx skills add cognyai/claude-code-marketing-skills --skill google-ads-monitor -a claude-codeWhat google-ads-monitor does
The skill pulls metrics for the last 7 days and the 7 before that, then works out the week-over-week difference for spend, conversions, CPA, ROAS and CTR. It also looks for the quiet failures: ads that got disapproved, conversion tracking that stopped firing, campaigns drifting past their budget. Connect Microsoft Ads, Apple Search Ads or ChatGPT ads in Cogny and the same steps run for each, reported in a separate block.
You need a Cogny Agent subscription and at least one ad account connected. Without the mcp__cogny__* tools the skill prints setup instructions and stops there. An account that shows as connected but answers with 401 or a permission error gets skipped and flagged for reconnecting. Spend from different platforms and currencies is never summed, which matters if you run several accounts at once.
Last week's numbers come from the context node insights/google-ads/monitor/latest. On a first run that node does not exist yet, so you get absolute figures and deltas only from the following week. Schedule the check with /loop or /schedule. For a one-off deep review there is a separate /google-ads-audit skill.
What it helps with
- spot a week where spend climbed but conversions did not
- catch a disapproved ad before it burns through impressions
- confirm conversion tracking is still firing
- compare CPA and ROAS per campaign against last week
- find the campaign that overshot its budget
Example prompts for the agent
- Run the weekly health check on my ad accounts
- Show what changed in spend and conversions over the last 7 days
- Any disapproved ads or broken conversion tracking?
