indicator-scanner — Claude Code skill: what it does, how to install
Generates Python scanners to screen stock watchlists using technical indicators like RSI, EMA, and Supertrend. Useful for automated market monitoring.
npx skills add marketcalls/openalgo-indicator-skills --skill indicator-scanner -a claude-codeWhat indicator-scanner does
This skill writes dedicated Python screening scripts inside scanners/{scan_type}/. It fetches candle history through client.history() and evaluates setups via the openalgo.ta package. Matches are printed to the terminal as a clean table and stored in a CSV file.
The system includes predefined watchlists for NIFTY 50 and Bank NIFTY alongside triggers such as RSI extremes, EMA crosses, Bollinger squeezes, and volume spikes. Custom rule combinations are also supported.
Execution depends on a valid .env file in the project root. Without credentials for the OpenAlgo client, historical data requests will fail.
What it helps with
- Screen watchlist tickers for RSI overbought or oversold conditions
- Detect moving average and MACD crossovers across multiple stocks
- Export technical scan matches directly to CSV spreadsheets
- Generate custom Python market scanners based on technical setups
Example prompts for the agent
- /indicator-scanner rsi-oversold nifty50
- /indicator-scanner ema-crossover banknifty
- /indicator-scanner supertrend-buy nifty50
