live-feed — Claude Code skill: live quotes and indicators
This skill writes a script that subscribes to OpenAlgo WebSocket feeds and computes indicators on the live stream. Useful when you need a real feed instead of a backtest.
npx skills add marketcalls/openalgo-indicator-skills --skill live-feed -a claude-codeWhat live-feed does
The skill creates {symbol}_live_feed.py under charts/live/, starting from the template in its rules. Data arrives over the OpenAlgo WebSocket: an LTP, Quote or Depth subscription, a rolling tick buffer, EMA and RSI computed on it. A multi mode keeps a watchlist table with auto-refresh.
You need OPENALGO_API_KEY and a host in your environment before running anything, and the script pulls history through client.history to seed the buffer. No key means no subscription, so check .env first. Ctrl+C is handled: the script unsubscribes from every feed and closes the socket.
The verbose level decides what gets printed, from errors only to every data update. Arguments come in as [symbol] [exchange] [mode]; with none given, the skill asks for the symbol and the feed type.
What it helps with
- stream quotes over WebSocket and compute indicators on each tick
- build an L5 order book view with spread and order imbalance
- show a watchlist table across several symbols at once
- seed the indicator buffer from historical candles
- unsubscribe and disconnect cleanly on Ctrl+C
Example prompts for the agent
- /live-feed SBIN NSE ltp
- /live-feed NIFTY NSE_INDEX quote
- /live-feed SBIN NSE depth
