gws-events-renew — Claude skill: renew Workspace Events subscriptions
Renews and reactivates Google Workspace Events subscriptions so they stop expiring. Useful when you listen to Workspace events through the CLI.
npx skills add googleworkspace/cli --skill gws-events-renew -a claude-codeWhat gws-events-renew does
The skill adds a gws events +renew command to the gws CLI. It either reactivates one subscription by name or renews every subscription expiring inside a time window.
Flags do the work: --name takes a name like subscriptions/SUB_ID, --all picks up everything within --within (1h by default, 30m or 2d also work). Subscriptions expire if you leave them alone, so --all pairs well with a cron job.
Read ../gws-shared/SKILL.md first — that's where auth, global flags and security rules live. If it's missing, run gws generate-skills. Worth installing if you keep long-lived Workspace event subscriptions; for a one-off renewal, the plain command is enough.
What it helps with
- reactivate an expired subscription by name
- renew every subscription expiring within two days
- run renewals from cron so subscriptions stay alive
- set a custom renewal window instead of the default hour
Example prompts for the agent
- Renew subscriptions/SUB_ID with gws events +renew
- Renew all subscriptions expiring within two days
- Show me how to set up a cron job for gws events +renew --all
