What gws-calendar-insert does

The skill runs gws calendar +insert. Each event needs a summary, start time, and end time in RFC3339 format. You can select a calendar and pass a location, description, attendee email addresses, or the --meet flag to add a Google Meet link.

You need the gws executable and the auth setup described in gws-shared/SKILL.md. If that file is missing, the instructions say to run gws generate-skills. This command writes to a calendar, so get user confirmation before running it. Install the skill when you want an agent to create events from a request; it is not for reading calendar data.

What it helps with

  • create an event for a given time range
  • invite attendees to a meeting
  • set an event location and description
  • add a Google Meet link to an event

Example prompts for the agent

  • Add a Standup to my primary calendar on June 17, 2026, from 09:00 to 09:30 -07:00.
  • Create a Review event and invite [email protected].
  • Schedule a Meet for the requested time and add a Google Meet link.
