flags — Claude Code skill: React flags and installation

This skill runs React's feature-flag command and explains the results. Use it to compare release channels when a feature behaves differently between them.

What flags does

On request, the skill runs yarn flags and explains the output. With no arguments, the command shows flags across all channels. Use --diff <ch1> <ch2> to compare two channels, --cleanup to group flags by cleanup status, or --csv to get CSV output.

The listed channels are www, www-modern, canary, next, experimental, rn, rn-fb, and rn-next. Pay attention to __VARIANT__ flags: in www, they are tested in both variants. That matters when investigating differences. Running the check requires the yarn flags command in the React project.

What it helps with

  • show flags across all channels
  • compare flag states between two channels
  • group flags by cleanup status
  • export the check results as CSV
  • investigate why a flag behaves differently across channels

Example prompts for the agent

  • Show the React feature flags across all channels.
  • Compare flags in `canary` and `next` with `--diff`.
  • Group flags by cleanup status and return the results as CSV.

# Feature Flags

Arguments:
- $ARGUMENTS: Optional flags

## Options

| Option | Purpose |
|--------|---------|
| (none) | Show all flags across all channels |
| `--diff <ch1> <ch2>` | Compare flags between channels |
| `--cleanup` | Show flags grouped by cleanup status |
| `--csv` | Output in CSV format |

## Channels

- `www`, `www-modern` - Meta internal
- `canary`, `next`, `experimental` - OSS channels
- `rn`, `rn-fb`, `rn-next` - React Native

## Legend

✅ enabled, ❌ disabled, 🧪 `__VARIANT__`, 📊 profiling-only

## Instructions

1. Run `yarn flags $ARGUMENTS`
2. Explain the output to the user
3. For --diff, highlight meaningful differences

## Common Mistakes

- **Forgetting `__VARIANT__` flags** - These are tested both ways in www; check both variants
- **Comparing wrong channels** - Use `--diff` to see exact differences
