clinical-reports · davila7 — Claude Code skill: what it does, how to install
Generates structured clinical documentation, journal case reports under CARE guidelines, and trial summaries. Useful for clinicians and medical researchers.
npx claude-code-templates@latest --skill scientific/clinical-reportsWhat clinical-reports does
This skill equips Claude Code to generate medical documentation across four core areas. It handles peer-reviewed case reports, diagnostic laboratory findings, clinical study reports (such as CSR and SAE), and routine patient charts like SOAP notes or discharge summaries. Generated drafts comply with HIPAA, FDA, and ICH-GCP regulatory baselines.
Case reports follow the CARE guidelines checklist. The workflow partitions notes into distinct sections, covering MeSH keywords, diagnostic interventions, chronological tables, and explicit patient consent. It also enforces HIPAA privacy rules by stripping out 18 recognized patient identifiers from the records.
Every clinical document requires at least one visual element, such as a treatment flowchart or a CONSORT diagram. The skill runs python scripts/generate_schematic.py from the scientific-schematics companion tool to produce diagrams, which means a functioning Python setup is mandatory in your environment.
What it helps with
- draft peer-reviewed case reports according to CARE guidelines
- format routine SOAP notes and hospital discharge summaries
- de-identify patient medical records in line with HIPAA
- prepare serious adverse event (SAE) reports for clinical trials
Example prompts for the agent
- Draft a clinical case report for a rare cardiac condition following CARE guidelines
- Create a discharge summary using SOAP format and remove all 18 HIPAA identifiers
- Write a serious adverse event SAE report for a clinical study with a patient timeline
