claude-email-marketing-skill — Claude Code skill for email marketing
Gives Claude hands-on email marketing expertise: deliverability, authentication, automation, copywriting and picking an ESP.
npx skills add reason-machines/marketing-skills --skill claude-email-marketing-skill -a claude-codeWhat claude-email-marketing-skill does
This skill turns Claude into an email marketing practitioner. It diagnoses spam folder problems and hands back specific fixes, drafts subject lines and CTAs, and designs trigger-based sequences such as welcome series, abandoned cart and re-engagement flows. It also walks through SPF, DKIM and DMARC setup, audience segmentation and metric analysis.
The content is split into modules: authentication.md for SPF, DKIM and DMARC, list-building.md for lead magnets and opt-ins, segmentation-and-data.md for segments and GDPR, copywriting.md for subject lines and email structure, automation-and-sequences.md for trigger workflows, deliverability.md for inbox placement and IP warming, esp-and-reference.md for provider comparison and legislation reference.
ESP evaluation follows a five-factor framework. There are code samples too: tracking an abandoned cart event through the Klaviyo API, Mailchimp merge tags, creating a SendGrid suppression group with curl, a DMARC monitoring record. The API samples need service keys — KLAVIYO_PUBLIC_API_KEY, SENDGRID_API_KEY — set as environment variables, or the requests fail.
What it helps with
- figure out why emails land in spam
- set up SPF, DKIM and DMARC records for a domain
- write a welcome sequence for new signups
- choose an ESP for a given list size and budget
- split a list into behaviour and purchase segments
Example prompts for the agent
- My emails are going to spam, I send through SendGrid, and my open rate dropped. What's wrong?
- Walk me through SPF, DKIM and DMARC for example.com — Postmark handles transactional, Mailchimp handles marketing.
