Run `npx skills add cursor/plugins --skill advisor -a claude-code`, then run `npx skills add cursor/plugins --skill advisor -a claude-code` again. The skill file is placed at `~/.claude/skills/advisor/SKILL.md`.

Q: Where does advisor keep its mode state?

Mode settings are stored in `.cursor/advisor/state.json`. `/advisor off` removes the `.cursor/advisor/` directory.

Adds a second model for reviewing decisions, debugging dead ends, and checking work before completion. The mode starts only when explicitly requested.

What advisor does

advisor brings in a separate model as a consultant during an agent task. It receives a briefing and returns guidance, while the main agent keeps responsibility for file edits and the final decision.

Use /advisor to turn the mode on, pass a model name to select one, or call /advisor ask <question> for an immediate opinion. Consultations are intended before consequential choices, after repeated failed fixes, and before wrapping up non-trivial work. Its state is kept in .cursor/advisor/state.json.

Full mode requires a model available to subagents. Check the available subagent models before naming one, because an unavailable slug is replaced with the closest available option.
