research-add-items — Claude Code skill: extend a research outline
Adds new research objects to an existing outline and saves them back to outline.yaml. Useful when the topic list needs to grow instead of starting over.
npx skills add Weizhena/Deep-Research-skills --skill research-add-items -a claude-codeWhat research-add-items does
The skill locates */outline.yaml in the current working directory and reads it on its own. Then it asks which items to add and whether any specific names matter. In parallel it checks if you want an agent to search the web for more items.
New entries get appended to outline.yaml, duplicates are filtered out, and the updated outline is shown for confirmation. The file is modified in place — your {topic}/outline.yaml gets overwritten, so keep it under git if the plan is already settled.
You trigger it with /research-add-items. It works against an outline that already exists: with no outline.yaml in the folder there is nothing to extend.
What it helps with
- append new objects to a finished research outline
- locate and read
outline.yamlin the working directory - pull extra items in through a web search agent
- drop duplicates while merging lists
- save the updated outline in place and show it for confirmation
Example prompts for the agent
- /research-add-items
- Add a few more objects to the outline: the competitors from this list
- Run a web search for extra items and append what you find to
outline.yaml
