pptx-deck-creation — Claude Code plugin: build editable PPTX decks
Turns a brief and source material into editable PowerPoint decks: spec first, then explicit inch-based layout.
/plugin marketplace add wshobson/agents
/plugin install pptx-deck-creation@claude-code-workflowsWhat pptx-deck-creation does
The plugin walks from brief to finished PPTX. It prepares the business narrative and design context, then builds slides against a layout_tree contract measured in inches. Auto-layout is not trusted here — coordinates are stated outright. Text, shapes, lines, tables, connectors and images stay native and editable in PowerPoint.
Reference decks are analysed read-only. Source slides are never copied or mutated. Checks cover geometry, accessibility, source lineage and OOXML package integrity. The bundled pptx-reference-deck-analysis skill supplies the safe OOXML utilities; its optional local dependency is defusedxml, and high-level extraction may also use python-pptx.
The python-pptx builder is written per task and only when a PPTX is requested. There is no general renderer, no template cloning, no browser and no MCP server. No credentials, no online service. If your project already has a slide-generation pipeline, this plugin will compete with it over the output format — worth checking which one owns the deck.
What it helps with
- build an editable deck from a brief and rough notes
- pin exact element coordinates instead of auto-layout
- analyse someone else's deck read-only without touching it
- check slide geometry and accessibility before a review
- keep the OOXML package intact while assembling
Example prompts for the agent
- Build the deck from this brief and set coordinates explicitly in
layout_tree - Analyse the reference deck read-only and describe how its slides are built
- Run the geometry and accessibility checks on the finished PPTX

# PPTX Deck Creation Create editable, production-ready PowerPoint decks from a brief and source material. ## What it provides - A business narrative and design-context preparation workflow. - Final inch-based `layout_tree` contracts rather than implicit auto-layout. - Native editable PowerPoint text, shapes, lines, tables, connectors, and supporting images. - Read-only reference-deck and OOXML package analysis; source slides are never copied or mutated. - Geometry, accessibility, source-lineage, and OOXML package-integrity checks. ## Boundaries This plugin creates a small task-specific `python-pptx` builder only when a PPTX is requested. It does not ship a general renderer, clone templates, require a browser, use an MCP server, or require credentials or an online service. The combined `pptx-reference-deck-analysis` skill provides the safe, read-only OOXML utilities. Its optional local dependency is `defusedxml`; task-local high-level extraction may additionally use `python-pptx`.
