document-skills adds document-focused skills for DOCX, XLSX, PPTX, and PDF files. Once installed, Claude Code can select a relevant skill from a request, such as extracting form fields from a PDF.
Each skill lives in its own folder and uses a SKILL.md file for metadata and instructions. The document skill implementations are source-available, rather than open source.
The skills are available on paid Claude.ai plans. Install this plugin for file-based document tasks; it adds little for plain text drafting.
