yazio-mcp — Claude Code MCP server: Yazio nutrition data
Connects your AI assistant to a Yazio account: daily nutrition summaries, food search, weight, water and goals.
claude mcp add yazio-mcp -e YAZIO_USERNAME=<YAZIO_USERNAME> -e YAZIO_PASSWORD=<YAZIO_PASSWORD> -- npx -y yazio-mcpWhat yazio-mcp does
The server hands your assistant access to Yazio nutrition data. It returns a daily summary and the food entries for a given date, plus weight history, exercises, water intake, goals and profile settings. A second group of tools searches the Yazio food database and writes to your log: a product, an amount, a date and a meal type.
Under the hood it exposes tools such as get_user_daily_summary, search_products, add_user_consumed_item and remove_user_consumed_item. Auth uses your Yazio credentials, passed through the YAZIO_USERNAME and YAZIO_PASSWORD environment variables. You need Node.js 18+ and a working Yazio account.
Yazio has no official API, so the server talks to a reverse-engineered one. That means it can break whenever Yazio changes something on their end. One-click .mcpb install in Claude Desktop is broken by a bug; use the unpacked extension or the npx config instead.
What it helps with
- review what you ate yesterday and break down the macros
- look up a product in the Yazio database for calories and macros
- log a meal you forgot to track in the app
- pull weight and water intake trends for the week
- check how many calories are left against your daily goal
Example prompts for the agent
- Search for 'chicken breast' in the Yazio database
- Add 200g of grilled salmon for yesterday's dinner

Questions about yazio-mcp
How do I install yazio-mcp in Claude Code?
Run claude mcp add yazio-mcp -e YAZIO_USERNAME=<YAZIO_USERNAME> -e YAZIO_PASSWORD=<YAZIO_PASSWORD> -- npx -y yazio-mcp with your Yazio credentials. Verify with claude mcp list.
What does yazio-mcp do?
It gives your assistant your Yazio account data: daily summaries, consumed items, weight, exercises, water and goals. It also searches the food database and adds or removes log entries.
Why can the server stop working?
It relies on a reverse-engineered API, since Yazio does not provide an official one. Any change on their side can break the tools.
