texas-grocery — Claude Code MCP server for H-E-B shopping
Search H-E-B stores and products, handle cart items, and find coupons through an AI agent. Useful when you want grocery tasks to run from a chat.
claude mcp add texas-grocery -- uvx texas-grocery-mcpWhat texas-grocery does
The server gives an agent tools to locate H-E-B stores by address, search products with prices and availability, and retrieve details such as ingredients, nutrition, and allergen warnings. It can also view a cart, add or remove items, and find or clip coupons. Cart additions need confirmation.
Cart and session actions require Playwright MCP. Browser-enabled setup uses pip install texas-grocery-mcp[browser] followed by playwright install chromium. The project relies on unofficial HEB.com web APIs and browser automation, and has no affiliation with H-E-B. Keep that in mind before connecting an account.
Add it to Claude Code with claude mcp add texas-grocery -- uvx texas-grocery-mcp. The server can save login credentials in the system keyring, and HEB_DEFAULT_STORE sets a preferred store. This is a grocery integration, not an official H-E-B service.
What it helps with
- find H-E-B stores near an address
- search products and check their prices
- look up ingredients and allergen warnings
- add items to a cart with confirmation
- find coupons and clip a selected offer
Example prompts for the agent
- Find H-E-B stores near Austin, TX.
- Search for organic milk at store
590. - Find cereal coupons and clip one after I confirm.
