Xtracticle — MCP server for Claude Code: X posts as Markdown
Turns public X (Twitter) posts, threads and Articles into clean Markdown for AI assistants. Handy when your agent needs to work through a source that lives on Twitter.
claude mcp add --transport http xtracticle https://xtracticle.com/mcpWhat Xtracticle does
The server lives at https://xtracticle.com/mcp and speaks HTTP, so there is nothing to host on your side. A thread gets reassembled from whichever post you point at, posts keep their line breaks and quotes, and X Articles come through with cover art and embedded posts intact. No login is involved because only public material is read.
Behind it sits the FxTwitter API, wrapped by a Cloudflare Worker and cached at the edge for 5 minutes. That window is your freshness limit, and private accounts or deleted posts simply won't come back. Setup is a single command that registers the URL with your client.
A plain endpoint, /api/markdown/:id, does the same conversion if you would rather call it directly. Agents that need the text inline still do better with the MCP server, since nothing has to be assembled by hand.
What it helps with
- pull a whole X thread into one readable document
- export an X Article to Markdown with its images
- give an agent a public post without logging in
- gather quotes from Twitter into notes
Example prompts for the agent
- Read the thread at this x.com link and summarise the argument
- Fetch that X Article as Markdown
- Go through this post and list every link in it

Questions about Xtracticle
How do I install Xtracticle in Claude Code?
Run claude mcp add --transport http xtracticle https://xtracticle.com/mcp. The server is remote, so no local process is started.
What does Xtracticle do?
It converts public X posts, threads and Articles to Markdown for AI assistants. The same converter powers a web app with PDF, EPUB and ZIP export.
Do I need an X account or an API key?
No. Only public posts are read, so nothing asks you to sign in. Private profiles and posts removed after caching stay out of reach.
