What XMemo does

XMemo provides a persistent context layer for development agents. It tracks project facts, pending tasks, and architectural decisions, returning relevant details within specified token limits. The system stamps memory entries with agent identity to preserve origin records.

Running the local CLI runner requires Node.js version 20 or newer. While the @xmemo/client library is published under the MIT license, the hosted backend remains private. A valid XMEMO_KEY token is required to establish communication with the storage layer.

What it helps with

  • persist project state and task lists across agent reboots
  • share memory across editors and terminal clients
  • retrieve scoped context under tight token budgets
  • track record origins by tagging specific agent instances

Example prompts for the agent
