What xdataapi: X (Twitter) data does

This server connects coding agents to public X data through a remote HTTP endpoint at https://api.xdataapi.io/mcp. Built-in tools include get_user, get_user_tweets, search_tweets, get_thread, and get_balance. Queries accept standard search operators recognized by x.com.

Authentication handles OAuth automatically on first launch. For environments without OAuth support, clients pass an x-api-key HTTP header. Stdio-only clients can connect through the mcp-remote bridge package.

All available tools are strictly read-only, meaning the server cannot post updates or modify accounts. Every returned post or profile consumes one credit from a prepaid balance. Empty queries and network errors cost nothing.

What it helps with

  • fetch complete conversation threads by tweet ID
  • search public posts on X using native query operators
  • inspect profile details and follower lists for an account
  • track remaining prepaid credits via get_balance

Example prompts for the agent

  • Search for recent posts from user x discussing AI agents.
  • Fetch the entire reply thread for tweet ID 1234567890.
  • Check my remaining credit balance in xdataapi.
