Maplith Bridge — Claude Code MCP server: share a data folder
Serves one folder of data files over MCP behind a token, and can fill it from PostgreSQL under a read-only role. Your database password stays put.
claude mcp add maplith-bridge -- npx -y maplithWhat Maplith Bridge does
The Bridge runs inside your own network. It puts an MCP server in front of a single folder and gates access with a token you generate yourself. That token lands in maplith-bridge.token, readable only by you. The server answers on http://127.0.0.1:8787/mcp, on this machine alone.
Filling the folder is the extractor's job. It talks to PostgreSQL and refuses to start under a role that can do anything beyond reading. The database password never leaves the host where the extractor runs. Each table becomes a CSV file, and next to them the extractor writes maplith-schema.json with column names, types, keys and an estimated row count. No values go in there. The file lets a reader tell that a renamed column is still the same column, while a dropped and re-added one counts as new.
Node.js 24 or newer is required. The server needs nothing but Node.js; the extractor pulls in one pinned dependency, the PostgreSQL client. Codex does not hand your environment down to plugin servers, so sharing a folder there takes an extra step: npx --yes [email protected] setup codex --dir <folder>.
What it helps with
- hand an agent a folder of exports without granting write access
- dump PostgreSQL tables to CSV under a read-only role
- verify role permissions before any file is written
- show an agent the table schema without the rows
- connect a database to an agent without sharing the password
Example prompts for the agent
- Start the Bridge over
./exportsand create a token - Extract the PostgreSQL tables into
./exportsasbridge_reader - Run the extractor with
--checkto verify the role, writing nothing

Questions about Maplith Bridge
How do I install Maplith Bridge in Claude Code?
Run claude mcp add maplith-bridge -- npx -y maplith. Then create a token with npx --yes [email protected] bridge rotate-token and start the server with npx --yes [email protected] bridge serve --dir ./exports.
What does Maplith Bridge do?
It shares one folder of files over MCP behind a token and can populate that folder from PostgreSQL. The server is read-only: it has no method that writes.
What do I need to run the Bridge?
Node.js 24 or newer. For PostgreSQL extraction you need a role limited to reading; the extractor will not run under a role with wider rights.
