vercel — Claude Code MCP server: deployments and logs
Manage Vercel deployments and inspect build or runtime logs from an AI coding agent. Useful when checking releases or tracing application failures.
claude mcp add --env VERCEL_TOKEN=<VERCEL_TOKEN> --env VERCEL_TEAM_ID=<VERCEL_TEAM_ID> --env VERCEL_TEAM_SLUG=<VERCEL_TEAM_SLUG> --env VERCEL_ENABLED_TOOLGROUPS=<VERCEL_ENABLED_TOOLGROUPS> --transport stdio vercel -- npx -y vercel-platform-mcp-serverWhat vercel does
This MCP server connects an agent to the Vercel REST API. It can list projects and deployments, inspect a deployment by ID or URL, read build events, and query runtime application logs with filters.
Tools are split into readonly and readwrite groups. Read-only access covers projects, deployments, and logs; write access adds deployment creation, cancellation, deletion, promotion, and rollback. Set VERCEL_ENABLED_TOOLGROUPS to control the groups, and use VERCEL_TEAM_ID or VERCEL_TEAM_SLUG for team-scoped operations.
You need a Vercel account, an API token in VERCEL_TOKEN, and Node.js 18+. Without VERCEL_TOKEN, the server cannot call the API. For runtime debugging, find the project ID with list_projects, then narrow results by time, level, source, or error status.
What it helps with
- check the state of recent deployments
- trace failures in build logs
- filter runtime application logs
- promote a preview deployment to production
- roll back to an earlier deployment
Example prompts for the agent
- Show the latest Vercel deployments and filter for failed ones.
- Find runtime errors in the latest deployment of
my-appfrom the last 24 hours. - Roll back project
prj_xyz789to the previous deployment.
