TOMC Memory — Claude Code MCP server: features and setup
TOMC prepares task-focused context and stores project notes through MCP. Use it to carry decisions and pending work into another chat.
Open on GitHubWhat TOMC Memory does
TOMC Memory compiles context from a conversation history around a following task and a chosen memory budget. Its remember_memory and recall_memory tools let an assistant save and retrieve project notes such as decisions, constraints, finished work, and remaining steps. Preparation runs on CPU without model training or a separate model service.
The MCP server supports Claude Code and the other listed platforms; the project also offers a Python API. Notes can move to a new chat or another assistant when both clients on the same computer use one TOMC database. Short histories may remain intact, so the amount prepared depends on the history and task. In version 0.2.1, successful preparation and recall store the prepared context and task locally by default. Turning off context recording stops future body storage, while existing snapshots remain until deleted.
What it helps with
- prepare conversation context for a follow-up task
- save project decisions and constraints as notes
- bring unfinished work into a fresh chat
- share saved notes with another assistant through a common TOMC database
Example prompts for the agent
- Use
remember_memoryto save the decisions from this task and the work still pending. - Use
recall_memoryto prepare TOMC notes for the next project task. - Prepare context from this conversation for the next coding task.
