THOR — Claude Code MCP server: memory and setup

THOR keeps project notes close at hand and can block a matching change when a note includes a live check. Use it to carry project rules across coding sessions.

What THOR does

THOR keeps a separate set of notes for each project. The agent sees a note when it opens a related file or runs a related command, so project guidance can appear in a fresh conversation. A note with a check that still passes can stop a matching edit or command before it happens. Notes without a check remain guidance; they cannot block work.

The server runs locally, and the Claude Code setup command starts it with Docker. THOR also flags stale notes and reviews notes that were surfaced during work. Rules with checks that can refuse an edit are not hidden by that review process. Docker is needed to run the supplied installation command, while memory stays on the machine by default.

What it helps with

  • show project guidance when an agent reaches a related file
  • block an edit that breaks a checkable project rule
  • keep notes from separate repositories apart
  • spot stale or rarely surfaced project notes

Example prompts for the agent

  • Save this project rule: keep the Node.js range in package.json unchanged while the build relies on the older version.
  • Check the note for this file before editing it, and stop if its proof still holds.
  • Show project notes that refer to files or commands that no longer apply.
