iranti — MCP server for Claude Code and other agents
Shared memory for AI agents: facts, checkpoints and semantic search that survive a restart. Useful when context vanishes between sessions.
claude mcp add --env DATABASE_URL=<DATABASE_URL> --env IRANTI_API_KEY=<IRANTI_API_KEY> --env IRANTI_URL=<IRANTI_URL> --transport stdio iranti -- npx -y irantiWhat iranti does
iranti is an MCP server that keeps agent facts and checkpoints and searches them semantically. The store is shared, so several agents read the same memory instead of each keeping its own.
It runs with npx -y iranti. You need DATABASE_URL and IRANTI_API_KEY, plus IRANTI_URL in some setups. No database and no key means the server will not come up, so sort out the connection first.
Works with Claude, Codex, Cursor, GitHub Copilot, Windsurf (Devin Desktop), Cline, Zed and Gemini CLI. Everywhere it is a stdio server: the npx command, the -y iranti argument, environment variables in the config.
What it helps with
- keep project facts across agent sessions
- find a stored fact by meaning instead of grepping logs
- set a checkpoint before a risky refactor
- share one memory between several agents
- restore context after restarting the IDE
Example prompts for the agent
- Save to iranti: this project runs PostgreSQL 16
- Search iranti memory for everything we decided about auth
- Create an iranti checkpoint before the schema migration

Questions about iranti
How do I install iranti in Claude Code?
Run claude mcp add iranti -e DATABASE_URL=<DATABASE_URL> -e IRANTI_API_KEY=<IRANTI_API_KEY> -- npx -y iranti. A variant with an explicit transport also exists: `claude mcp add --env DATABASE_URL=<DATABASE_URL> --env IRANTI_API_KEY=<IRANTI_API_KEY> --env IRANTI_URL=<IRANTI_URL> --transport stdio iranti -- npx -y iranti`.
What does iranti do?
It stores agent facts and checkpoints and searches them semantically. One memory is shared by every connected agent.
What does iranti need to run?
The DATABASE_URL and IRANTI_API_KEY variables, and IRANTI_URL in configs that include it. The server starts through npx -y iranti.
