Stable Baseline — Claude Code MCP server: how to install
Connects your coding agent to an interactive workspace with documents, over 40 diagram formats, and databases. Handy for organizing team knowledge straight from the terminal.
claude mcp add --transport http stable-baseline https://api.stablebaseline.io/functions/v1/cloud-serve/mcpWhat Stable Baseline does
The server links your coding agent to an external company workspace containing documentation, roadmaps, and a knowledge graph. It provides 222 tools across 20 distinct categories. An agent can draft specs, modify folder structures, and render over 40 visual formats, including Mermaid, BPMN 2.0, and PlantUML.
Communication happens remotely over Streamable HTTP with an SSE fallback at https://api.stablebaseline.io/functions/v1/cloud-serve/mcp. Authentication accepts either an interactive OAuth 2.1 flow on the first call or a persistent API token starting with sta_*.
Database access remains turned off by default when creating new API keys. You must tick the database permission box in the developer settings before letting the agent query or update structured tables.
What it helps with
- generate architectural diagrams in Mermaid or PlantUML from code
- maintain workspace documentation and project roadmaps
- query and edit structured databases through conversational prompts
- inspect company hierarchy and folder structures via AI
Example prompts for the agent
- Draft a Mermaid sequence diagram for our checkout flow and save it to the workspace.
- List all project folders in our organization using Stable Baseline.
- Create a task breakdown document for the upcoming authentication migration.
