Social Champ — MCP server for Claude Code: posts and channels
Wires an AI agent into Social Champ for scheduling, channels, queues, approvals and AI content. Handy if you run social accounts from chat.
claude mcp add --transport http socialchamp-mcp https://mcp.socialchamp.com/mcpWhat Social Champ does
The server hands your agent the Social Champ tool catalog. Posts can be created, edited, removed, bulk-scheduled and reordered in the queue, and Instagram first comments can be set. Other tool groups cover channels, workspaces, labels, post recycling and shareable calendars. An AI wizard adds post generation, hashtag suggestions, rewriting and image creation.
Tools carry annotations so the client knows when to ask for confirmation. Read-only ones are marked readOnlyHint=True; the destructive set (delete_post, delete_shareable_calendar, bulk_delete, queue_clear) is marked destructiveHint=True. Agency tools need the caller token to hold the manage_team scope as well, and each such tool says so in its description.
Python 3.10 or newer is required, plus a Social Champ API key or OAuth2 access token — both go out as a Bearer token. Everyday tools work with read_profile and manage_post; approvals, reminders and bulk delete will fail without manage_team. The server reads environment variables only and never loads a .env file on its own, so pull it into your shell with set -a; . ./.env; set +a before starting, then run unset SOCIALCHAMP_API_KEY when you are done.
What it helps with
- queue a week of posts in one go
- reorder what is already scheduled
- pull hashtag ideas for a draft
- check which approvals are still waiting
- set up a calendar to share with the team
Example prompts for the agent
- Queue three launch posts for tomorrow and the day after
- Suggest hashtags for the latest draft and show them to me
- List the approvals that have been pending the longest

Questions about Social Champ
How do I install Social Champ in Claude Code?
The hosted server needs no key: run claude mcp add --transport http socialchamp-mcp https://mcp.socialchamp.com/mcp, then type /mcp, pick SocialChamp and sign in through the browser.
What does the Social Champ MCP server do?
It gives an agent access to Social Champ posts, channels, workspaces, labels, queues, calendars, approval workflows and the AI content wizard.
Why do the approval tools fail?
They need the manage_team scope on the token. Browser sign-in grants only read_profile and manage_post, so use an API key that carries the scope if you need approvals.
