rtkcontext-mcp — Claude Code MCP server: context compression
A paid remote MCP server that compresses context for a specific task and returns token-usage receipts. Useful when your agent runs out of context room.
claude mcp add --transport http rtkcontext-mcp https://rtkcontext.clauxel.com/mcpWhat rtkcontext-mcp does
The server speaks Streamable HTTP and exposes four tools: compress_context_for_task, estimate_context_savings, issue_context_receipt and read_compression_history. One trims context down to the task at hand, another estimates the token savings, the third produces a receipt, the fourth replays past compressions. Everything comes back as structured JSON.
This is hosted and paid, not a local process. Production calls need a bearer token issued on the product site once you pick a plan. Requests without it get a JSON error back instead of any internal detail. The token goes in the Authorization: Bearer <token> header.
Any client that supports remote MCP over Streamable HTTP can connect. The endpoint is https://rtkcontext.clauxel.com/mcp, the server card sits at https://rtkcontext.clauxel.com/.well-known/mcp/server-card.json, and the registry name is com.clauxel.rtkcontext/rtkcontext-mcp. The repository holds documentation only — no production source — so you cannot inspect how the compression works before wiring it in.
What it helps with
- fit a long chat history inside the context limit
- estimate token savings before sending a request
- get a usage receipt for reporting
- review how context was compressed in earlier sessions
- hand the agent a short digest instead of a whole file
Example prompts for the agent
- Compress the context for the payment module refactor task
- Estimate how many tokens compressing this context would save
- Show the context compression history from today

What does rtkcontext-mcp do?
It compresses context for a given task, estimates the token savings, issues receipts and keeps a compression history. All of it through four JSON tools.
Do I need a token to use it?
Yes — it is a paid hosted service. You get a token from the product site and send it as Authorization: Bearer <token>. Calls fail without one.
