Rendex — Claude Code MCP server for page rendering
Rendex turns URLs, HTML, and Markdown into images or PDFs, and extracts readable webpage content. Use it when an agent needs a page capture or text to process.
claude mcp add --transport http rendex-mcp https://mcp.rendex.dev/mcpWhat Rendex: Rendering API for Images, PDFs & Content Extraction does
The MCP server can render a webpage, supplied HTML, or Markdown as PNG, JPEG, WebP, or PDF. It can capture a full page or a CSS-selected element, set PDF options, and fill a Mustache template with supplied data. Its extraction tool runs pages with JavaScript before returning readable content as Markdown, JSON, or HTML.
For a remote HTTP connection, use the hosted endpoint; local operation runs through npx and needs RENDEX_API_KEY. The local configuration contains that key, so keep .mcp.json out of version control with .gitignore. Some features depend on the plan: geo-targeted capture requires Pro or Enterprise, while completion webhooks for asynchronous jobs are available on Starter and above.
What it helps with
- export a webpage as a PDF
- capture a full page or a CSS-selected element
- render an HTML invoice with Mustache data
- extract page text after JavaScript runs
Example prompts for the agent
- Save
https://example.comas an A4 PDF. - Capture the full page at
https://news.ycombinator.comin dark mode. - Extract readable content from
https://example.com/postas Markdown.
