RE-call MCP Memory Server — Claude Code MCP server: what it does
Agent memory backend backed by SQLite or PostgreSQL with pgvector. Marks outdated claims and refuses to answer when evidence falls below confidence gates.
claude mcp add --env RECALL_SERVING_DSN=<RECALL_SERVING_DSN> --env RECALL_TENANT=<RECALL_TENANT> --env RECALL_TRUST_MODE=<RECALL_TRUST_MODE> --env RECALL_EMBEDDER=<RECALL_EMBEDDER> --env RECALL_TABLE=<RECALL_TABLE> --transport stdio re-call-mcp-memory-server -- uvx recall-ragWhat RE-call MCP Memory Server does
RE-call stores persistent agent context using either a single SQLite file or a PostgreSQL database with pgvector. Retrieval blends dense embeddings with text search through SQLite FTS5 or PostgreSQL indexes. The core path operates without invoking an LLM at the retrieval stage.
Every retrieved chunk carries explicit origin and confidence ratings. Outdated facts receive a superseded tag to ensure recent records take precedence. When matches do not satisfy the calibrated trust gate, the server returns an ABSTAIN verdict with a reason. It refuses to guess.
The system targets Python 3.11+. PostgreSQL deployments fail immediately without a valid RECALL_SERVING_DSN.
What it helps with
- store persistent agent memory in SQLite or PostgreSQL with pgvector
- suppress unverified context when retrieval falls below calibrated trust levels
- flag outdated records as superseded when newer facts arrive
- perform hybrid keyword and vector lookups without memory-layer LLM calls
Example prompts for the agent
- Query RE-call memory for our production database configuration and verify its provenance.
- Check stored memory to see if the API deployment guidelines were marked superseded.
How to install RE-call MCP Memory Server
Platform CLI
claude mcp add --env RECALL_SERVING_DSN=<RECALL_SERVING_DSN> --env RECALL_TENANT=<RECALL_TENANT> --env RECALL_TRUST_MODE=<RECALL_TRUST_MODE> --env RECALL_EMBEDDER=<RECALL_EMBEDDER> --env RECALL_TABLE=<RECALL_TABLE> --transport stdio re-call-mcp-memory-server -- uvx recall-ragReplace <…> with your own values. 1 more environment variable is in the server README. uvx runs the command named after the package; if the README names another one, use uvx --from recall-rag <command>

Questions about RE-call MCP Memory Server
How to install RE-call MCP Memory Server in Claude Code?
Run claude mcp add re-call -e RECALL_SERVING_DSN=<RECALL_SERVING_DSN> -- uvx recall-rag in your console to configure the server.
What does RE-call do when context certainty is low?
It routes the query through a calibrated trust gate. If the score misses the threshold, the server produces an ABSTAIN verdict with an explanation instead of returning weak matches.
Which Python version does RE-call require?
The tool requires Python 3.11 or newer to run via uvx recall-rag.
